I was born in Oakland, California, and I am a proud father and grandfather. I co-founded Southside Art Center in Sacramento, a respected program for people with developmental disabilities. During this time, I designed and supervised over 20 site-specific art installations for corporations and state agencies throughout the region.
In 2016, I retired, and the organization was rebranded as Southside Unlimited Inc. Examples of these corporate art installations can be found on their website, and I also have photo documentation available upon request.
As an artist, I have exhibited my work nationally for over 30 years, with articles, reviews, and a list of collectors available upon request.
I view my artwork as an evolving process where creativity unfolds naturally. I begin by establishing a connection with the painting, allowing colors, patterns, and shapes to emerge without preliminary sketches or plans.
The concepts that arise often draw from my observations of nature and various cultures. I create patterns that introduce variation and tension, then balance these elements—color, composition, shape, and pattern—toward completion.
My recent work explores human emotions, music, pianos, and the confrontational nature of art, aiming to capture the complexity of the human experience.
